Inês Sales and Jan Michalék

Inês Sales and Jan Michalek, Lisbon 1996. Prague 1997

Inês is a performer from Portugal, with a dance degree by Escola Superior de Dança, Lisbon, and Jan is an improviser (saxophones, violin, electronics) from Prague working in fields of improvised, experimental, jazz and contemporary music.
They work together exploring possibilities between improvisation, knowledge, tools and traditional instruments, the environment, the sounds of nature… and how all of this influence the final result.
Their joint research includes music and movement. At this moment they are focused on a research of sensorial movement and its relation with the landscape that surround the bodies. And the emotions we perceive, from the outside and the inside.
Finally, they are interested in looking for forms of freedom in the body through movement and vice versa.
