Andrea Tolosa-Cotoré, Zaragoza, 1993

During her stay at the residence, Sata did a sort of flag with the traditional knowledges passed down from generation to generation by women. She had a first contact with women villagers at the church, then they took coffee and had a funny time together talking about their memories. Sata listened to Angelines, Ana, Carmen, Mary Paz, Paula and others, and she can save receipes, as the homemade soap receipe, songs, or different remedies with plants, as hypericum oil. All this knowledges and many others made up the Fuentes´ Matria (feminin power, or feminin knowledge).
This knowledges aren´t on history books, and these women shared every of this with Sata and the other residents, with great generosity and love. It was a collective exercise to make visible the importance of feminin knowledge, from a cook receipe to the last stitch needed to sew this flag.
